Kate Crane Mixed Media Workshop with Stampers Grove Lilliesleaf Saturday 15 March 2025

We at Stampers Grove are delighted to welcome Kate Crane for the 2nd time (but first time as a PaperArtsy Signature Designer) time for a workshop in our home village of Lilliesleaf.

We have been lucky enough to have Kate Crane join us on a number of occasions when we have been on the road at craft shows and its great to have her join us again in the Scottish Borders.

About Kate (in Kates words):

"Happily living my creative life in a rural village in the north of England, UK. I am a designer, teaching artist, and crafts tutor teaching in the UK and other parts of Europe, and love to share my passion for all things arty with others. You can also find me demoing fairly regularly at craft shows, mainly in the UK"

So about the class.......

Stampers Grove Mixed Media Shenanigans! With Kate Crane Workshop

*NOTE: we haven't been able to share exact details as Kate's new stamps (and stencils) aren't released until  7pm UK time on Tuesday 25 February 2025. You will find them here from release time.*

You can be sure of brilliant bright colours, a variety of techniques and plenty of general creative mess making! We’ll create beautiful backgrounds using paints, alcohol inks, Infusions and gel printing, and we’ll use those backgrounds to create our projects. Kate will have a brand new *NEW* release from Paper Artsy (shhhh!) by then so keep an eye out for up-to-date photos and projects nearer the time. But rest assured, there will be lots of colour, a variety of techniques, and lots of messy fun and inspiration. Please bring: Art Journal (any size), a box of scraps (if you have one), gel plate (any size) , brayer, paintbrushes, watercolours or similar for colouring images, craft mat, scissors, colours for mark making ie: Distress Crayons, Oil Pastels etc, white paint pen, Stabilo All Pencil (or any dark pencil), paper trimmer, black Sharpie or alcohol marker (Kate brings spares so don’t panic if you haven’t got everything!)

Kate has just provided a few photos relating to some of the projects you will be making. (updated 25 February 2025). See further down this page.

If you would like to join us it is now time to act.

To make our life as easy as possible and to give you peace of mind that you have a place on the workshop if you want one (without the workshop being over subscribed) you can now reserve your right to book a place on the workshop. We have created a notional product (zero cost) at this stage (see below). After making sure you are happy with the workshop details outlined and the terms etc, add it to your basket (do so as a separate order i.e. don't order with anything else) and then submit your order as you would with any other order. You will receive a confirmation email. We will then be touch as outlined here.

** After we have been in touch payment of £55 will be required to confirm your booking. This will include kits and materials on the day, as well as light lunch and refreshments. After booking your place please let us know if there are allergies or dietary requirements that we should be aware of.
**Cancellation may be made up to two weeks prior to the event (i.e. by 1 March) and a refund will be give providing your place can be sold

**note: inevitably there may be circumstances which are out of our control which may cause us to alter the arrangements. Obviously if this was the case we would attempt to reschedule where possible. Refunds relating to the Workshop fees would then be offered if you were then unable to attend. We are sorry but we can't be held liable to any other consequential losses which may arise. We would of course give as much notice as possible where this was the case.

James and Emma of Stampers Grove will be there with a pop-up shop* (for all the supplies you need, as well as those you don’t!)

*Note Stampers Grove don't have a physical shop anymore, so this will be a pop up shop with a selection of our crafting goodies. We have created a coupon code for those attending the class that would like to access our whole website (9000+ products) and collect their products on the day of the class (only use if you have fully paid up for the class). Use the coupon 'KATELEAF' (spends > £15) [Valid up until and including Thursday 13th March] and this will remove postage and it will take 5% off all items on our website which are not currently discounted. We will have an envelope with your name on it which we will pass you before the class starts.*

Note the venue has parking directly outside. There is also parking in the village and hopefully next door at the Primary School.

If you would like any more information please get in touch and we will do our best to help.

Kate and of course us James and Emma are really looking forward to this and hope you can join us.

How to get there? Lilliesleaf is lovely rural village however not best served by public transport. To give you an idea our nearest shop is probably about 5-6 miles away. We have run workshops here before and everyone has managed to get here fine thankfully. There is no public transport directly through the village. So the easiest way to get to Lilliesleaf would be by car.  We are about a 70 minute drive from Edinburgh. In terms of towns near by (e.g. if you were looking for accomodation). Distances as follows: Melrose (7 Miles), Selkirk (6 miles), Hawick (8 miles), Jedburgh (11 miles), Kelso (15 miles). You may of course find other accomodation nearer if you put the post code TD6 9HX into a accomodation finding website. The nearest train station is Tweedbank (near Melrose) about 7 miles away. There may be scope to do some car sharing with fellow workshop goers. If you are willing to offer a car share - thank you! if you can let us know and we will be in touch if we have anyone looking for a lift and you can sort out arrangements if it's a suitable fit.

We have 2 other workshop dates penciled in (Lilliesleaf) with Alison Bomber (17/5/2025) and Jo Rice (23/8/2025). For now save the dates if interested and we will open booking nearer the time. Craft Show Dates and workshop details can also be found here.
